Zhangye Danxia Geopark, China

The colours on the formations are a result of the sandstone and other mineral deposits that happened over a million years ago. And the plane surface got tilted due to the movement of the tectonic plates giving birth to these mountains that look like a marbled cake now.

Salar de Uyuni, Bolivia

Uyuni Salt Flat in the Andes region of southwest Bolivia is the world’s largest salt flats. Nearly an area of 11,000 sq km has been left behind as a desert after the prehistoric lake Minchin dried up. The whole expanse of dried up area looks like a giant mirror when overflowed water from the nearby lakes gets collected on the ground. Since there’s no physical object on the ground to get reflected, the sky does the job of getting mirrored offering unimaginable views.
